Cardassian Embassy Personnel File |
|
Name:
Tevar Sorak (AKA
Korik Loktar ) Race: Cardassian Place of Birth:
Lakarian Province, Cardassia Prime Major Area of Study:
Science/Forensics Languages Spoken: Kardassi (all dialects); Klinzhai (Klingon); Vulcan; Federation Standard; Romulan; Trill; Feringinar
Personal Traits: Tevar is somewhat shorter than most Cardassian males, but built with very sleek athletic proportions which give some indication of his unusual strength and speed. His eyes are piercing silver-grey and he is rather handsome despite the reptilian features of a Cardassian. Personality: Tevar is an extremely enigmatic and rather troubled man due to his past history and experiences. He is currently reinventing himself after having his true identity restored to him and finding that he is no longer the strange, lusty and somewhat mad person who had once been jokingly called "Cardassinova" by those who knew him on his last military post as a Galt in the science department of Kerok Nor. Early Life: Tevar began life as an illegal experiment. His mother was a brilliant scientist whose intelligence bordered on madness. His father was a Gul and sent to run an encampment on Bajor shortly after he was conceived. His mother began using botanical compounds to alter her unborn son when she discovered the fetus was flawed and not likely to survive. The compounds made him incredibly intelligent, increased his strength and reflexes and gave him strange eyes that shone like silver disks. Unfortunately it also made him somewhat mentally unstable and made it necessary for her to formulate an elixir to keep him healthy. With the help of a family friend, she hid Tevar's unique condition. however, in time, the government insisted he be tested and put through the educational system. Due to his instability and brilliance, he was bounced from academy to academy. They saw him as too valuable to destroy but could find no field which would keep him. He became problematic enough that he came to the attention of certain members of the Obsidian Order who saw that he was much more than he seemed. As a teen, the Order attempted to program him as they did all of their operatives only to find that his mental state made it impossible. Thus he was put into the military in Science where he would be ridiculed (since science was deemed a womanly profession and generally only undertaken by men who acted as women) and hopefully be of use in the way of experimentation. He developed a reputation as a womanizer and often conducted illegal experiments in his private laboratory.

Other Personal History: While assigned to the Cardassion station Kerok Nor, Tevar became involved in a situation which put him into the cruel hands of the Cardassian government after being torn away from the only woman he had ever truly loved, Galt Maleah Merrit. His Father and mother were put to death for hiding what he was. He was once more put into the hands of the Order which attempted to strip him of his abilities, disfiguring him horribly in the process. They tried to break him, tried again to make him an operative, but he resisted. While he thought he should have died, the Inquisitor in charge of his case decided it would be more cruel to leave him as he was, weak and lacking his once handsome face, unable to ever again be Tevar Sorak. He was given the role of a humble aide, Korik Loktar, and sent to work with Tokor Ravik, a newly placed Ambassador. He took the role, always wearing a cowl which hid his ravaged face. It was hoped that he would tire of this half life and agree to spy on this Ambassador who wished to make the Cardassian Union better than the murderous empire it had been. In the end, however, he became friends with young Ambassador and took up his cause. Several years later, the Inquisitor came once again to convince him to join her in rebuilding the remains of the Obsidian Order. When he refused yet again, she left him broken and barely alive. K'ruska, then a Commander and XO of Starbase Taurus saved his life and Doctors Cara Khayne and Nicholas Haas worked together to restore his original genetic structure as well as rebuild the ravaged body he'd been left in. Now he has also reclaimed his identity as Tevar Sorak in direct defiance of the Inquisitor and her supporters who still control some small faction of the Detapa Council and wish for Cardassia to be as it was before the Dominion War. His life has become very complex as he isn't as he was, yet fights many of the same battles for his own sanity. He realizes that, having loved deeply and had it torn away, he cannot go back to the manipulative, charming womanizer he was. Yet at the core, that is still a part of him, an unforeseen aftereffect of his genetics. He has found himself in a somewhat secretive relationship with K'Ruska, who had already been fascinated with him in his guise of Korik. But he knows she seeks something deeper than the purely physical relationship they have. Though he feels badly for using her in such a way, he cannot stop the compulsion to continue with the pleasures of flesh.
