Help with Naming Your Character
Naming your character can be quite important. You wouldn't see a full blooded Vulcan named John or a Klingon named Bob. That would just be silly. Below are examples of names listed alphabetically by race. Do not use the ones here as they are taken from actual characters who already exist either in canon, fanfic or in a game somewhere. Just use them as guidelines. Due to the scarcity of some races, not all are covered here. If you have sources (books or shows) where these races are given names, please let us know.
Acamarian
Acamarian names tend to have a rather Germanic sound to them.
Male: Chorgan, Volnoth
Female: Yuta, Marouk
Andorian
Andorian names seem to tend toward almost Middle-Eastern sounds. They tend to
show either a great deal of strength or a sort of lithe flowing sound, both of which are
attributes inherent in Andorians

Female: Telia, Tira, Yssir, Lyndra
Surnames: Kafas, Keth, Faram, Mahirn, Thelin, Aaraka
Bajoran
The Bajorans are fairly unique amongst the known major races in that they have a
two part name but the personal, or 'given', name comes last. Given names are only used
between friends and it is an honour for someone to say for you to use it. Bajoran names
themselves are usually short and have a soft sound, characteristic of the Bajoran language
in general. There are not many apostrophes or double barrelled names amongst true born
Bajorans. When married the man's family name changes to the woman's as Bajor is
traditionally a Matriarchal society. Many men nowadays retain their name when in senior
positions and especially if dealing regularly with foreign organizations.

Saurian
Saurian names are always comprised of three parts and translate into English with
some difficulty. The first two components, the birthname and the clan name, closely
resemble the first and surnames common on Terra; the last name is a historical reference
that changes continually throughout each Saurian's lifetime. It reflects such things as
date of birth, gender, personal achievements, marital status, occupation, and even
personal interests. As a result, Saurian last names are often more than fifty letters long
and for common usage are abbreviated into three representative letters, divided by
apostrophes. Saurians often modify their names when dealing with other races, giving them
phonetic structures pronounceable by humanoids.

rule, just a general occurance.
