Star Fleet
Personnel Record
Identification Number: S4758393B
Name: Kitanal Kestrae Place of birth:
Northern Dakhur Province, Bajor Awards & Commendations |
Personal Traits: When seen at first glance, Kitanal emanates an aura of "don't touch me". She walks with a fluid grace and moves with the swiftness of the Ta'arhawk, the Bajoran raptor she was nicknamed after. Her eyes--a rare topaz color--are always studying things or people intently. Her hair, a rich golden blond, is almost always braided when on duty. Off-duty, it's occasionally left to flow free. Personality: Seemingly harsh and critical. However this is only a first impression--as the critical hides a not-often seen wry wit and a very keen mind. If she is with certain people, her "shields" will come down even more. Early
Life: Kitanal was born during the height of the Occupation. Her father
perished in the mines when she was only three years old. A year later, she
and her older sister were witness to their mother's rape and murder. At ten,
her sister was taken from her, leaving her completely orphaned. This
instilled a fierce need for revenge in her and she immediately went looking
for the nearest resistance cell. She found the Mernith a week later. Esain
Deyara, the leader's betrothed, took pity on the angry girl and taught her
the basics of fighting. After four months of rigorous training, Esain
convinced her lover to take Kestrae with them on a raid. Kestrae was given
permission and the raid was a success, but her newfound friend was one of
the raid's few casualties. Leaving the Mernith at the age of fifteen to
branch out on her own, she perfected different techniques of torture and
assassination and even thought up a few of her own. As the waning years of
the Occupation passed, Kestrae grew into a beautiful young woman--and an
extremely dangerous one. Her reputation grew by leaps and bounds. Fellow
Bajorans revered her. The Cardassian civilians feared her. The Obsidian
Order put a high price on her head. But she was never caught. Occasionally,
she would pop up at a resistance cell's hideout and assist them with a raid
or other small assignment, but afterwards, would vanish. A few skeptical
Cardassian officers even doubted her existence, believing "The Ta'arhawk"
was nothing more than a story made up by the slaves to give themselves false
hope. But they would soon learn otherwise--often too late.... Academy
Life: Having joined the Academy much later than most, Kitanal rarely, if
at all, socialized. Instead, she put all her energy into her studies and
graduated in the top two percent of her class. Cadet Cruise: N/A Family: Hobbies: Fighting/battle techniques of all kinds, Klingon opera, alien mythology, Bajoran history, and most recently, dancing, particularly zydeco. People
From The Past: Additional Comments: Rarely talks about her "terrorist" past, and will not accept critical judgment of her actions at the time, especially if they come from Cardassians. |
