Personal Traits: Due to serious illness as a child, Aranyl is a bit pale and seems too thin. He has what appears to be a tattoo of a Native American bear totem on his chest. He often seems to be looking through people rather than at them. When not working, he wears a Native American buffalo bone and bear claw choker with a turquoise medallion on which is engraved the emblem of the bear. On his belt is usually an ornately beaded sheath holding a knife with a deer antler handle. He also sometimes wears a buffalo robe.

Personality: Aranyl possesses super genius intelligence and is rarely found without some form or reading material in hand. He has an eidetic memory and a nearly unquenchable thirst for knowledge. He is somewhat shy and unsure of himself. He blushes easily due to a sheltered early life. There is a gentle quality about him which seems to give people comfort. He seems to have an uncanny knack for reading people and has a very spiritual aura about him.

Early Life: Aranyl's parents were imprisoned in the Gallitep labor camp during the Occupation. While she was pregnant with him, she was subjected to horrible chemical experiments which damaged Aranyl in the womb. He was born during the liberation of the camp. His mother was struck down while in labor and he had to be cut from her womb. It was shortly discovered that he had no immunities to the world around him and the Resistance smuggled the newborn and his father, Kapras Hajar, offworld to seek aid in Federation space. He lived his life within containment units and sterile environments, never able to touch anyone until numerous surgeries to implant an artificial immune system were performed. During these surgeries, he met Ruby (Calahan) Giovanni and they quickly fell in love. The hardware within him later became transformed to natural tissues by a Native American Shaman woman.
